Rabbi Shimon Dovid Cowen, Ph.D., is the son of former Australian Governor-General Sir Selman Cowen. He has pursued research in both secular and religious fields, taught at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and founded the Institute of Judaism and Civilization, of which he is director. He has translated several works by Viktor Frankl from German into English and is the author of a vital introduction to The Rediscovery of the Human – Psychological Writings of Viktor Frankl on the Human in the Image of the Divine.

Rabbi Dr. Cowen also specializes in universal ethics, which refers to the Noahide Code—the root and core doctrine of world religions. His main work in this field, “The Theory and Practice of Universal Ethics—The Noahide Laws,” has been translated from English into Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and Bahasa Indonesia.
